Casting All Your Cares
It is so easy to get caught up in the weight of our daily responsibilities. We attempt to carry the load in our own strength. When life feels a bit too serious or overwhelming, Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us where to anchor our hearts:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
When we stop trying to figure everything out on our own, and lean back on the Lord and trust Him, we find the freedom to walk through whatever today holds.
1 Peter 5:6-7 gives us a pattern to release that pressure:
"Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."
Humbling ourselves simply means admitting we can't carry it all ourselves—and choosing to lean on His understanding and His direction instead of our own. Our Heavenly Father is entirely aware of the exact circumstances that we are walking through right now. Whatever it is that we are holding, we don't have to hold it all together, because He actively invites us to throw the full weight of our worries onto Him.
We can stop striving. We can trust His heart and let Him direct our steps today.
A thought for us to walk with: Casted cares are cared for by our Father.
We do the casting, and He does the caring of them.
