I Commend You to God and The Word of His Grace
I feel a lot like Paul, or Peter, or John, or our Beloved Lord Jesus Christ these days, as Cammy and I prepare to enter into our Sabbatical on January 1st. I am wanting to make sure everyone continues in the things they have learned: to pray and abide in His word, to serve in His body, and to love one another fervently.
So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. Acts 20:32
Sanctification is given in Christ and obtained in His word.
I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that you should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. – Prayer of Jesus, John 17:14-19
Immersion in the truth and abiding daily in His Word with the power of the Holy Spirit, is sanctification unto obtaining the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2:13,14
