Faith to Continue

Today, while I was praying for the beloved at Jubilee, I felt the weight of those in long-term tests and the exhaustion that comes when a promise feels delayed for years. It’s easy to feel like our faith must be a “mountain of strength” to see a “mountain moved”. But I wanted to remind you that even when your natural ability to "hold on" feels gone, you can simply lean on the character of Jesus. He doesn’t require us to have it all figured out; He only asks for that mustard-sized faith (Matthew 17:20). Like the father who cried out, "I believe; help my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24), it is okay to bring your weariness and your doubts directly to Him. He isn't looking for perfection, but for the honesty of our hearts. He knows us in the struggle.

The scriptures show us that persistence is often born out of those long seasons of waiting. Think of the widow who went before the unjust judge, refusing to give up until she received justice (Luke 18:1-8). Even in a situation that seemed rigged against her, her refusal to stop asking eventually moved the hand of the judge.

Likewise, the woman who suffered for twelve long years was likely exhausted after so many failed attempts to find healing (Mark 5:25-34). Her delay pushed her to a point of desperation, as she pushed through the crowd, and the disappointments of her past, just to touch the hem of His garment. She believed that even a tiny point of contact with Jesus would be enough—and it was.

Your faith is in Jesus’ abilities, not in your abilities. Return to His Word, find the promises He spoke to you and refresh your weary soul that Jesus is able to complete what He started, He can complete what He has spoken to you. His word will not return back to Him void, but His Words in your mouth will refresh your faith in Him again.

Thank you for your deep dives into the depths of Jesus. Jesus has everything in abundance and He loves to give it freely. The problem is on our end, not letting go enough, not fully abiding, but you are working to show use how to cling desperately to God in love (Psalm 91:14). I am growing with deep desire and desperation for Jesus. Your sermons always sets these things ablaze. Thank you again, your great come back.
